What is the Entrepreneur Awards? The awards recognize and honor the skill and courage it takes for entrepreneurs to create a business out of an idea. Our community has events that do honor the accomplishments of large and small businesses however, this event focuses solely on the accomplishments of the entrepreneur. The Entrepreneur Awards takes place on March 3, 2017 at 11:00am.
When does the 2017 nomination process begin? Nominations open January 4, 2017 and close on January 26, 2017. Final applications are due by January 31. No applications will be accepted after 11:59pm on January 31.
Who can submit a nomination for consideration? Anyone who knows a successful entrepreneur can nominate a candidate. This includes spouses, employees, bankers, attorneys, public relations managers, friends, or entrepreneurs themselves. . Self-nominations are encouraged too. After all, no one knows the dimensions of an entrepreneur’s success better than the entrepreneur.
How do you nominate someone for consideration? Nominations are only accepted via the website, http://innovatehsv.com/entrepreneur-awards. Once a nomination is received the recipient will receive and email with the link for the application.
How do I find out if I am a winner? Once you fill out an application you are contender for one of the awards. We intentionally don’t ask applicants to self-select a category. This allows for more flexibility in the judging process. All final award winners are kept confidential until the Entrepreneur Awards on March 3, 2017. It is highly recommended that all nominees attend the Entrepreneur Awards Luncheon.
How is the People’s Choice winner selected? All applicants are included in the People’s Choice online poll through Al.com. The poll is open for voting for one week during February 10 – 17, 2017, and the winner of this award is selected by the number of the most votes. Applicants are encouraged to share their nomination via social media to drive voting. The winner is kept confidential until the Entrepreneur Awards on March 3, 2017.
Do I need to live in Huntsville in order to apply? Eligible applicants can live anywhere in the North Alabama region.
Do I have to be a client of WBCNA? You do not need to be a client or have any relationship with Women’s Business Center of North Alabama (WBCNA) to be eligible for the Entrepreneur Awards.
Are application forms kept confidential? Yes. The information on the application form will be used only by our judges who have all signed confidentially agreements. The only portion of the application that will be made public is what you type to submit for the online People’s Choice Poll run through Al.com.
Is there a cost to apply? There is no cost to submit a nomination and no cost to apply.
